“Panic Room” at the Au Vieux Panier hotel in Marseille, France by Tilt.
I really like this for one simple reason. This is what my mind looks like. Not the plain white on the left, but the chaos on the right. Whenever I try to put my mind at ease, I go through this process. I try to imagine a completely blank, white locker. Why is it a locker? I have absolutely no idea. Even when I actually had a locker in school, I never used it. I just carried everything around in my backpack. Nonetheless, I try to imagine this perfectly pristine locker. But it never is. It’s always covered in graffiti and hand-written notes and all kinds of ridiculous shit. In fact, it looks almost exactly like the right side of this room. I have never been able to see the left side of the room, or the prefectly pristine locker. It’s always covered in layer after layer of chaos. I’ve never been able to put my mind at ease. I’m glad this photo exists.
